Defendant Pleads Guilty to Heroin Trafficking Charges

A New Orleans resident has admitted to his role in a large-scale heroin trafficking operation in Louisiana. Andre Addison, 30, of New Orleans, pleaded guilty today to possession with intent to distribute heroin, according to U.S. Attorney Kenneth Allen Polite, Jr.

The investigation, dubbed Operation Megabusted, revealed that a heroin trafficking organization, led by Byron M. The organization was supplied by two Colombian Foreign Nationals illegally present in the United States.

Couriers for the organization transported kilogram quantities of heroin and cocaine from Houston to New Orleans via the Megabus and other methods of transportation. Upon arrival in New Orleans, the heroin and cocaine were distributed throughout the city, as well as Avondale, St. Charles Parish, and Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

According to court documents, the organization was responsible for the distribution of approximately 30 kilograms of heroin and cocaine over a two-year period. Addison is one of 15 defendants charged in a 17-count superseding indictment.

Williams, Keying Evans, Theodis Hudson, Dominique Brown, Robert Leon Johnson, Davon Christopher Mosley, Kerry B. Molliere, Sheila Jenkins, and Franklyn F. Phillip.

The investigation was conducted by the New Orleans Gang Task Force, which includes members of the New Orleans Police Department, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, and St. Tammany Police Sheriff’s Office. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney J. Collin Sims.
