Fort Worth’s Scott Wayne O’Toole has been handed a 60-year federal prison sentence for his sickening exploitation of children. The 60-year-old faces a lifetime behind bars after being caught producing explicit photos of minors in the city.
O’Toole, 60, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual exploitation of children in April 2025. He was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Judge Reed C. O’Connor on August 28, 2025, to a total of 720 months for each count.
Authorities began their investigation into O’Toole after seizing a USB drive containing child sexual abuse material from a hotel in Alaska. The discovery was made during his temporary duty as a school bus driver.
This case is a testament to the coordinated efforts of multiple agencies, including the FBI, Fairbanks, Alaska Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, and law enforcement from various districts in Texas. It was part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation.
Project Safe Childhood is a relentless effort led by U.S. Attorney’s Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, utilizing federal, state, and local resources to protect children from predators like O’Toole.
