Paul Fields, Cocaine Trafficking, New York 2024

In a major blow to the streets of Niagara Falls, four men have been charged with their roles in a drug trafficking ring operating in the area. U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced the arrests, which were made possible by an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation.

The four defendants, Paul Fields, 39, Edward Rollie, 49, Rashawn Salmon, 39, and Jermaine McQueen, 46, have been charged with various crimes related to the trafficking of cocaine and fentanyl. According to the complaints, on August 28, 2024, search warrants were executed at multiple residences associated with the defendants.

During the searches, law enforcement recovered 1.5 kilograms of fentanyl, over a kilogram of cocaine, three firearms, and $25,000 in U.S. currency. The recovered evidence supports the charges against the defendants, which carry significant penalties.

Paul Fields and Edward Rollie are charged with possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, which carry a minimum penalty of five years in prison, a maximum of life, and a $5,000,000 fine.

Rashawn Salmon is charged with possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl, which carries a minimum penalty of 10 years in prison, a maximum of life, and a $10,000,000 fine.

Jermaine McQueen is charged with possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, which carry a minimum penalty of 10 years in prison, a maximum of life, and a $10,000,000 fine.

The OCDETF operation involved numerous law enforcement agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Niagara Falls Police Department, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Department, the North Tonawanda Police Department, the New York State Police, and the Erie County Sheriff’s Department.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
