Frank Louis Ober III, 34, Convicted of Drug Dealing in Pennsylvania

PITTSBURGH – A convicted drug dealer has been convicted again in federal court, according to a statement from United States Attorney David J. Hickton. Frank Louis Ober III, 34, pleaded guilty to one count before United States District Judge Joy Flowers Conti.

Ober’s guilty plea comes as a result of his arrest in 2014, when he was found to possess with the intent to distribute approximately 14 pounds of marijuana, a Schedule I controlled substance. This is not Ober’s first run-in with the law, having previously been convicted of possessing more than two kilograms of cocaine with the intent to distribute it.

Ober had been released from federal prison shortly before his new arrest, and will now face the consequences of his actions. Judge Conti has placed Ober on Electronic Home Monitoring (house arrest) pending the sentencing scheduled for July 31, 2015, at 11 a.m.

The law provides for a maximum total sentence of 10 years in prison, a fine of $500,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed is based upon the seriousness of the offense and the prior criminal history of the defendant.

Assistant United States Attorney Ross E. Lenhardt is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government. The investigation that led to Ober’s prosecution was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Munhall Police Department.

The case against Frank Louis Ober III serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in our region. As a convicted drug dealer, Ober poses a significant threat to our community, and his conviction is a testament to the dedication and hard work of law enforcement agencies.
