Garrick Bailey, Cocaine Distribution, New York 2020

Albany, New York – In a shocking turn of events, a multi-agency investigation led to the arrest of five individuals suspected of distributing cocaine and heroin in the Capital Region. Among those arrested was Garrick Bailey, a 29-year-old man from Schenectady, New York.

According to sources, Bailey was charged with distributing cocaine base, also known as crack cocaine, and heroin. The alleged conduct occurred between September 15 and November 17, 2020. If convicted, Bailey faces at least 10 years and up to life in prison, as well as a term of post-release supervision of at least 8 years and up to life.

The investigation, which involved the ATF, the New York State Police, the Schenectady Police Department, the Albany Police Department, the Albany County Sheriff’s Office, the Rotterdam Police Department, and the United States Marshals Service, culminated in the arrests of Bailey, Chavon Sutton, Timothy Kingsland, Tracey Kingsland, and Christina Altieri. Sutton is charged with distributing cocaine base and heroin, while the remaining defendants face charges of distributing cocaine base.

The defendants initially appeared in court on November 24, 2020, before United States Magistrate Judge Daniel J. Stewart. Following detention hearings, Bailey and Sutton were ordered detained pending trial, while Timothy Kingsland, Tracey Kingsland, and Christina Altieri were released on conditions.

The charges in the complaints are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. The cases are being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert A. Sharpe.
