Georgia Man, 32, Sentenced to 8 Years in Federal Prison for Meth Trafficking

A 32-year-old Georgia man has been sentenced to 8 years in federal prison for his role in a massive methamphetamine trafficking operation.

U.S. District Judge R. Stan Baker handed down the sentence in the case of Williams, 32, of Brunswick, Georgia on Monday, March 13, 2023.

Williams was convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime in September 2022.

According to court documents, Williams was involved in a large-scale methamphetamine trafficking operation that distributed the highly addictive and potent drug to customers across the country.

During the investigation, law enforcement seized over 3 kilograms of methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $150,000, as well as a firearm.

Williams will serve his 8-year sentence in a federal correctional facility, followed by 3 years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay a $500 fine and $100 special assessment.

Assistant U.S. Attorney, Emily Clark, praised the hard work and dedication of agents from the Brunswick office of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), who led the investigation.

‘This case highlights the significant threat that methamphetamine poses to our communities and the critical role that law enforcement plays in disrupting and dismantling these trafficking organizations,’ Clark said.

The case was prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Georgia, with assistance from the DEA and the Brunswick Police Department.
