NEWARK, N.J. – In a stunning admission, German national Georg Ingenbleek, 58, confessed to orchestrating a colossal mail fraud scheme that defrauded elderly and vulnerable victims out of over $10 million dollars. The fraudulent psychic conman has been on the run since his indictment in 2020.
Ingenbleek, who was apprehended in Italy and extradited to face charges in May 2025, pleaded guilty today before U.S. District Judge Claire C. Cecchi to two counts of mail fraud. The defendant’s scheme spanned from 2011 to 2016, during which time he sent out fraudulent psychic solicitations promising great fortune.
The documents filed and statements made in court revealed that Ingenbleek used direct mail campaigns to dupe victims into believing they were receiving free psychic services. He then had co-conspirators send false billing notices demanding payments for the ‘services,’ often ranging from $20 to $50, under threat of legal action. Ingenbleek’s cunning scheme bilked over $10 million from unsuspecting victims.
The mail fraud charges against Ingenbleek carry a potential penalty of 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000, or twice the gross gain from the offense. Sentencing is scheduled for December 17, 2025.
Acting U.S. Attorney Alina Habba praised postal inspectors, IRS-CI special agents, and HSI New York agents for their roles in the investigation that led to Ingenbleek’s capture and extradition. The prosecution is being handled by Assistant United States Attorneys Jonathan Fayer and Olta Bejleri.
