Corey Jenkins Jr., Gun Manufacturing and Trafficking, New Jersey 2024

CAMDEN, N.J. – Corey Jenkins Jr., 31, a key player in a gun manufacturing and trafficking network in Passaic and Hudson counties, was sentenced to 87 months in prison and three years of supervised release in federal court Monday.

Jenkins, of Paterson, New Jersey, was one of several defendants in the case who pleaded guilty to conspiracy to engage in unlicensed dealing of firearms and one count of engaging in unlicensed dealing of firearms. In addition, he pleaded guilty to one count of possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.

The investigation into the trafficking network, which was operating largely in Paterson and Bayonne, began in December 2022, according to court documents and statements made in court. During the investigation, law enforcement conducted controlled purchases that resulted in the recovery of over a dozen firearms. Additional firearms were recovered during the execution of search warrants on Jan. 30, 2023, including a loaded PMF that Jenkins threw out of a window of his home upon realizing that law enforcement was nearby.

Richard Mullane, 27, of Bayonne, New Jersey, was sentenced on June 5, 2024, to 72 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release. Mullane pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography, which was discovered on electronic devices seized from his home on Jan. 30, 2023.

Savion Clyburn, 21, of Paterson, was sentenced on May 30, 2024, to 60 months in prison and three years of supervised release. Clyburn pleaded guilty to conspiracy to engage in unlicensed dealing of firearms and one count of engaging in unlicensed dealing of firearms.

U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger credited special agents of the ATF, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office, and other law enforcement agencies with the investigation that led to the sentencings.

The government is represented by Assistant U.S. Attorney Matt Belgiovine of the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s Criminal Division in Trenton.
