Goldsby Man Sentenced for Child Porn Possession
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – A disturbing case of child exploitation has come to a close with a severe sentence. Roger Preston Kuhn, 29, of Goldsby, has been sentenced to serve 210 months in federal prison for downloading and possessing child pornography.
According to court records, Kuhn had been consuming child pornography for many years, downloading it via the Internet. The court also considered evidence of his predatory behavior, including having sexual contact with children.
Kuhn was indicted on May 21, 2013, and pled guilty on June 6, 2013. In addition to the 210-month prison sentence, the court sentenced Kuhn to an additional 10 years of supervised release upon his release from prison. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.
This case was part of Project Safe Childhood, the flagship program for child exploitation prevention and interdiction. It was the result of an investigation conducted by the Canadian County Sheriff’s Department and the United States Secret Service.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Brandon Hale prosecuted the case. U.S. District Court Judge Stephen P. Friot presided over the trial and handed down the sentence.
Kuhn’s sentence sends a strong message that child exploitation will not be tolerated in Oklahoma. It is a reminder that those who prey on children will face severe consequences. The people of Oklahoma can rest a little easier knowing that justice has been served in this case.
