Good Shepherd Catholic School, Inc. (GSCS) Falsifies Autism Therapy Claims, Oklahoma City OK, 2023

Oklahoma City, OK – In a shocking case of fiscal dishonesty, Good Shepherd Catholic School, Inc. (GSCS) has paid a hefty $354,000 to settle allegations of submitting false claims to TRICARE for services provided to students with autism.

The non-profit private educational institution, located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, has been accused of knowingly submitting false or fraudulent claims to TRICARE for providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy services to TRICARE beneficiaries. According to the allegations, GSCS provided ABA services in a group setting, rather than the required one-on-one basis.

The United States alleges that GSCS committed this fraud from May 13, 2013, to December 20, 2016. To resolve the claims, GSCS agreed to pay $354,000 to the United States, without admitting liability.

The case was investigated by the Defense Criminal Investigative Service, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Ronald R. Gallegos prosecuted the case. The agreement between the parties allows them to avoid the delay, expense, inconvenience, and uncertainty involved in litigating the case.

GSCS serves students with autism and other neurological disorders. The school provides ABA services as part of its program, which is aimed at helping students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The settlement in this case highlights the importance of transparency and accountability in healthcare claims. It also serves as a reminder that institutions and individuals must adhere to the rules and regulations governing their services.
