Grecco Sentenced to Life for Ossining Murder

A 35-year-old New Jersey man has been sentenced to life in prison for brutally murdering a 25-year-old Ossining resident during a botched marijuana deal.

Anthony Grecco, of Manville, New Jersey, was found guilty of robbing and murdering Ryan Ennis, who was stabbed repeatedly and had his throat slashed in his father’s apartment complex in Ossining on August 26, 2014.

Grecco, a marijuana dealer from New Jersey, had set up a meeting with Ennis under the guise of delivering more marijuana, but instead planned to rob him and kill him if necessary to get money to invest in the heroin business of another dealer.

During the robbery, Grecco stabbed Ennis multiple times and slit his throat, taking $8,900 in cash, a cellphone, and a hat.

U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara stated, "Anthony Grecco violently murdered Ryan Ennis, repeatedly stabbing him and slashing his throat, all for a few thousand dollars Ennis had for marijuana he thought Grecco was delivering. The significant sentence imposed on Grecco today reflects the horrific and cold-hearted nature of his crime."

The Village of Ossining Police Department and the FBI’s Westchester County Violent Crimes Task Force investigated the case, with Assistant U.S. Attorneys Michael Gerber, Scott Hartman, and George Turner leading the prosecution.

The sentence imposed on Grecco reflects the severity of his crime, and we hope it brings some measure of justice to the Ennis family.
