Hector Savage, Possession of Child Pornography, New York 2024

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Hector Savage, a 37-year-old man from Greece, has been charged with possessing child pornography in federal court.

U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy, Jr. announced that Savage pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography by an individual with a prior conviction, a charge that carries a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years in prison and a maximum of 20 years.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan K. McGuire stated that Savage had a prior conviction for Sexual Abuse 1st: Sexual Contact with Individual Less than 11 Years Old, which he received on July 31, 2003, in Monroe County Court.

On May 25, 2019, Savage possessed approximately 20 images of child pornography on an Apple iPhone, some of which depicted prepubescent minors or minors under 12 years old.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Child Exploitation Task Force, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Stephen Belongia, and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, under the direction of Sheriff Todd Baxter.

Savage’s sentencing is not yet scheduled, but he faces a lengthy prison term as a result of his guilty plea. This case is a reminder that child predators will be held accountable for their actions.
