Bobby Linhart, a 24-year-old Greenfield, Indiana resident, has been locked up for 40 years after exploiting at least six minors between the ages of 12 and 15 on social media. Linhart, who used the username ‘maps.syb,’ targeted victims on Instagram, Telegram, Snapchat, and X between April 2023 and March 2024.
He employed classic grooming tactics to gain their trust, including complimenting their appearance, lying about his age, and offering narcotics in exchange for sex. Linhart coerced multiple children into producing and sending explicit images and videos of themselves, which he later distributed to other minors.
One victim, a 12-year-old girl, was persuaded to sneak out of her home to meet Linhart, who provided her with marijuana and then sexually abused her. Investigators seized thousands of images and videos of child sexual abuse material from Linhart’s home in March 2024.
Linhart also arranged in-person meetings with minors for sex and traveled to at least two cities, including one out of state, to abuse his victims. He’s been ordered to pay $68,000 in restitution to the victims.
