Ailoa, Oregon resident Thomas Allen Vetsch, 56, is headed to the slammer for 10 long years after accessing child abuse material on his laptop while on probation for a previous sex abuse conviction.
It’s the second strike against Vetsch, a registered sex offender since 2006 for encouraging child sex abuse. Investigators found 43 disturbing images on his laptop when they searched his home on July 22, 2024.
Vetsch pleaded guilty to accessing child abuse material on January 12, 2026, and will now serve his sentence and 10 years of supervised release.
“Protecting our children is the District of Oregon’s top priority,” said U.S. Attorney Scott E. Bradford. “Today’s sentence reflects our commitment to holding repeat offenders accountable.”
Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Seattle acting Special Agent in Charge April Miller echoed those sentiments, vowing to continue working with law enforcement partners to identify and prosecute those who exploit children.
