A Utah man’s twisted obsession with child sex crimes landed him in the slammer after a jury convicted him of receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material.
Johnston Blackhorse, 42, of Aneth, Utah, was already on supervised release for a 2015 conviction of possession of child pornography when two probation officers stumbled upon a computer with deleted files containing six images of child sex abuse material.
The officers secured a search warrant, and a forensic examiner with Homeland Security Investigations found that the images had originated from child pornography websites under Blackhorse’s username.
The evidence also showed Blackhorse used the computer to access other child pornography files stored on an external device.
Blackhorse’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for August 18, 2026.
