Utah Sex Offender Jaycee Stewart Gets 25 Years for CSAM Hoard

A repeat child sex offender has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to possessing child sex abuse materials. Jaycee Stewart, 33, of St. George, Utah, received the lengthy sentence on his guilty plea to charges involving receipt of child sexual abuse materials (CSAM).

According to court documents, Stewart was in possession of tens of thousands of files depicting child sex abuse materials. The St. George Police Department investigated the case, and Assistant United States Attorney Christopher Burton of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Utah prosecuted it.

The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. Stewart was previously convicted in Utah state court of possession of child pornography in 2015. He has also pleaded guilty to sexually abusing two victims and is pending sentencing in state court.

Stewart’s sentence includes 300 months’ imprisonment, a lifetime of supervised release, and restitution to the victims. The U.S. District Court Judge Ann Marie McIff Allen imposed the sentence after Stewart pleaded guilty to the charges on November 4, 2024.

A child disclosed to their elementary school teacher that they were being sexually abused by Stewart on April 12, 2023. The victim stated that Stewart occasionally used an item to sexually abuse them and had numerous photographs of ‘naked girls’ and images of children that were ‘inappropriate’ in his room.

Following an executed search warrant on Stewart’s residence, officers found multiple images of child sexual abuse hanging on his walls and a stack of images of child sexual abuse on his printer, in binders, and in Stewart’s closet. Stewart also had a digital frame that cycled through approximately 22,000 images of child sexual abuse.

Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims. For more information about the initiative, please visit Justice.gov/PSC.
