On March 25, 2025, a supervised release revocation hearing in the Southern District of Indiana turned ugly when Dedrick Brown, 32, made chilling threats against his probation officer.
The officer had just testified against Brown, and the defendant’s anger boiled over. Brown warned he’d shoot his probation officer and vowed to ‘make it his job’ to find and kill him after release. In a disgusting display of disrespect, Brown then tried to spit on his probation officer.
U.S. Attorney Adam L. Mildred promised swift justice for public servants targeted by threats like Brown’s.
Prosecutors brought Brown to book with the help of the FBI, U.S. Marshals Service, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Brown’s 21-month sentence sends a stark message: threatening federal employees will be met with serious consequences.
