MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — In a recent crackdown on narcotics trafficking, three individuals have been sentenced in United States District Court in Martinsburg. The defendants, GREGORY LYTE, JR., LOREN CONSTANTINE BROWN, and JAMES ALBERT WOLF, were found guilty of various charges related to the distribution and possession of controlled substances.

GREGORY LYTE, JR., 36, of Hagerstown, Maryland, was sentenced to 87 months imprisonment to be followed by 6 years of supervised release. LYTE entered a plea of guilty on September 12, 2012, to ‘Distribution of Crack Cocaine’ on September 30, 2011, in Martinsburg.

LYTE’s case was investigated by the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, consisting of officers from the West Virginia State Police – Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Martinsburg Police Department, and the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department.

LYTE was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending designation to a Federal institution. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Thomas O. Mucklow.

According to the United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, this sentencing marks another significant victory in the ongoing fight against narcotics trafficking in the Eastern Panhandle.

The case was investigated by the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crime Task Force. GREGORY LYTE, JR. is currently remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending designation to a Federal institution.
