Methamphetamine Distribution Plagues Louisiana Community

A disturbing trend of methamphetamine distribution has been on the rise in Louisiana, with a recent case highlighting the severity of the issue. Jamal Holland, a 28-year-old man from Many, Louisiana, was sentenced to 173 months in prison for his involvement in the distribution of the highly addictive substance.

According to evidence presented at Holland’s guilty plea on September 9, 2014, law enforcement conducted controlled purchases of methamphetamine from him on September 18, 2013, and October 3, 2013. The total amount of methamphetamine sold during these transactions was 39 grams.

The investigation, conducted by the DEA and the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office, led to Holland’s arrest and subsequent sentencing. Assistant U.S. Attorney Brandon B. Brown prosecuted the case.

Holland’s sentence includes three years of supervised release following his prison term. The harsh punishment serves as a warning to those involved in methamphetamine distribution, a crime that poses a significant threat to communities across Louisiana.
