GUAM’S PENSION SCAM EXPOSED

The Justice Department has taken a hard-hitting stance against the Guam government and the Guam Retirement Fund, accusing them of denying servicemembers proper pension credits during their military service.

According to a lawsuit filed by the Justice Department, the Guam government and the Guam Retirement Fund allegedly failed to provide servicemembers with the proper pension credits they were entitled to, resulting in financial losses for these individuals.

The lawsuit, filed in the United States District Court for the District of Guam, alleges that the Guam government and the Guam Retirement Fund engaged in a pattern of conduct that was ‘arbitrary, capricious, and contrary to law.’

Specifically, the lawsuit claims that the Guam government and the Guam Retirement Fund failed to follow the law, which requires that servicemembers be credited with their military service for pension purposes.

The lawsuit seeks to hold the Guam government and the Guam Retirement Fund accountable for their actions and to provide relief to the servicemembers who were affected by their alleged wrongdoing.

‘This lawsuit is a critical step in holding the Guam government and the Guam Retirement Fund accountable for their actions,’ said Assistant Attorney General Jocelyn Samuels of the Civil Rights Division. ‘We will continue to fight to protect the rights of servicemembers and ensure that they receive the benefits they are entitled to.’

The lawsuit is part of the Justice Department’s ongoing efforts to protect the rights of servicemembers and to hold government agencies and officials accountable for their actions.

The case is being led by the Civil Rights Division’s Housing and Civil Enforcement Section, and the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Guam.
