Greensboro, N.C. – In a major crackdown on repeat violent crime and gun-related activity in High Point, eight individuals have been indicted by a federal grand jury for federal gun and drug violations, announced Matthew G.T. Martin, United States Attorney for the Middle District of North Carolina.
The defendants, each with at least one prior serious conviction, face charges ranging from possession of firearms by felons to intent to distribute oxycodone.
David Christopher STALLINGS, 33, from High Point, is charged with possession with intent to distribute oxycodone and being a felon in possession of a firearm. STALLINGS was caught with a Titan .25 caliber handgun and an AM-15 .223 caliber rifle in March 2018. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years for the drug charge and 10 years for the gun offense.
Jerry DOUGLAS, Jr., also 33 from High Point, is charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, having been caught with Israeli Military Industries (IMI) ammunition in August 2018. A conviction could see him sentenced to up to 10 years.
Crandall Ortais INGRAM, 26, from High Point, was indicted for being a felon in possession of a firearm after he was found with a Glock .40 caliber handgun in October 2018. He faces up to 10 years if convicted.
Edwin Marquis BATES, 30, from High Point, is charged similarly for possessing an H.S. Products .40 caliber handgun in December 2018. His conviction could result in a maximum sentence of 10 years.
Eddie Bernard BRATTON, 39, from Greensboro, faces charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm for having an Astra .25 caliber handgun in January 2019. If convicted, he may be sentenced to up to 10 years.
