⏱ 2 min read

Ackeme Jermane Campbell, a 32-year-old Jamaican music artist, was busted for possessing multiple guns and 92 rounds of ammunition in Turner County, Georgia, after a high-speed chase on November 15, 2025. Campbell, who performs as Chronic Law, was residing in the United States on an O-1B non-immigrant visa and allegedly fled from deputies at over 120 miles per hour. The chase ended with the discovery of a semiautomatic pistol, a semiautomatic rifle, and a stolen gun. Campbell allegedly admitted to owning the firearms without the necessary waivers.

Campbell was arrested in Miami, Florida, on July 5 and was detained without bond at his initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Eduardo I. Sanchez in the Southern District of Florida on July 9. He faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release and a $250,000 fine.

The complaint was filed in the Middle District of Georgia on July 1 and unsealed on July 14. U.S. Attorney William R. “Will” Keyes announced the charges, which stem from Campbell’s alleged failure to obtain the necessary waivers to own firearms as a non-immigrant visa holder.

Campbell’s arrest and charges mark a significant development in the case, which began with a routine traffic stop in Turner County, Georgia. The high-speed chase and subsequent discovery of firearms have raised questions about Campbell’s activities in the United States and his compliance with immigration laws.
