Maxwell David Horvath, Firearms Possession, Florida 2026

⏱ 2 min read

Maxwell David Horvath, a 37-year-old Orlando business owner, has been sentenced to six years in federal prison for illegally possessing an arsenal of firearms. Horvath, who pleaded guilty on March 4, 2026, was found to have 38 firearms, including silencers, short-barreled rifles, and machineguns, as well as thousands of rounds of ammunition, at his business in Palm Bay. The investigation began in June 2025, when the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office looked into Horvath’s business, Overseas Organix, Inc., which was selling a controlled substance.

Horvath’s troubles started after a federal conviction in January 2019 for possession with intent to distribute controlled substances. Despite being prohibited from possessing firearms under federal law, Horvath continued to amass a large collection of guns and ammo. The search of his business on December 3, 2025, revealed the extent of his arsenal, including handguns, rifles, shotguns, and kilogram quantities of 7-OH powder.

The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office. It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stephanie A. McNeff as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, the Department of Justice’s nationwide initiative to reduce gun violence.

Horvath’s sentence reflects the seriousness of his crimes and the danger he posed to the community. The court also ordered him to forfeit the 38 firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition. The case highlights the importance of enforcing federal firearms laws and the collaboration between law enforcement agencies to keep communities safe.
