Hamidullah Tribble, Gun Possession, Indiana 2024

A Chicago man has been convicted of a federal gun charge after a two-day jury trial in Indiana.

Hamidullah Tribble, 28, of Chicago, Illinois, was found guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm after a trial before United States District Court Judge Philip P. Simon.

The conviction comes as part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) program, which aims to reduce violent crime and gun violence in communities.

The investigation into Tribble’s activities was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives Indiana High Intensity Drug Trafficking Task Force and the Lake County Sheriff’s Department.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kimberly L. Schultz.

Tribble’s sentencing will be scheduled at a later date, with the specific sentence to be determined by the District Court Judge after consideration of federal statutes and the United States Sentencing Guidelines.
