Tulsan Sentenced to 30 Years for Selling Fentanyl to a Minor

TULSA, Okla. – A 24-year-old man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for selling fentanyl to a minor child in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Hank Sallee Williams, 24, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Gustavo A Gelpi, Jr. to 360 months imprisonment, followed by six years of supervised release.

According to the plea agreement, Williams knowingly sold fentanyl to Xander Tewis, a minor child, after driving to a home in Tulsa. Tragically, Xander died after taking the fentanyl provided by Williams.

This lengthy sentence demonstrates that those engaging in this type of act will face significant punishment, said U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson. Williams knowingly provided deadly fentanyl to a minor child.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Tulsa Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Adam C. Bailey prosecuted the case.

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has been combatting the fentanyl threat in the United States. In 2024, the DEA seized more than 292 million deadly doses of fentanyl. Laboratory testing shows that seven out of 10 pills seized contain a lethal dose of fentanyl.

Williams will remain in custody pending transfer to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.
