Hector Savage, Child Pornography, New York 2023

A Greece man with a prior conviction for child sexual abuse will spend the next decade behind bars for his latest crime: possession of child pornography.

Hector Savage, 37, was sentenced to 10 years in prison and 15 years supervised release by U.S. District Judge Charles J. Siragusa on May 25, 2023, for his conviction of possession of child pornography by an individual with a prior conviction.

The sentencing is the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Child Exploitation Task Force and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan K. McGuire, Savage was previously convicted of Sexual Abuse 1st: Sexual Contact with Individual Less than 11 Years Old in Monroe County Court on July 31, 2003.

On May 25, 2019, Savage possessed approximately 20 images of child pornography on an Apple iPhone, some of which depicted prepubescent minors or minors under 12 years old.

The case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing battle against child exploitation and the importance of vigilant law enforcement.

The sentencing of Hector Savage is a significant step towards justice for the victims of his crimes and a warning to others who would engage in similar behavior.
