Dinkins Sentenced to 120 Months for Methamphetamine Conspiracy
A Davenport man is facing 120 months in federal prison after being sentenced for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. According to court documents, Henry Earl Dinkins, 51, was a passenger in a van that was searched by Illinois State Police on April 25, 2019. A canine alert led to the discovery of three bags containing approximately 5,600 ecstasy pills containing methamphetamine.
On September 2019, a confidential source purchased pills containing methamphetamine from Dinkins, further evidence of his involvement in the conspiracy. This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence by bringing together law enforcement and communities.
The sentencing comes as a result of a joint investigation by the Illinois State Police and the Scott County Sheriff’s Office. Dinkins’ sentence will be served consecutively to his convictions for first-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping in the Iowa District Court in Scott County, where he received life sentences without the possibility of parole.
