LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Nearly ten pounds of heroin are off the streets after a routine traffic stop turned into a major drug bust on US-93. Mario Alberto Bojorquez-Manrique, 27, a citizen of Mexico who allegedly entered the country illegally, is now facing federal charges that could lock him up for life.
According to a statement released by United States Attorney Nicholas A. Trutanich for the District of Nevada, Bojorquez-Manrique was charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute heroin. The bust went down June 10, 2019, when a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper clocked a northbound vehicle driving erratically. Consent to search the vehicle was granted, and a K9 unit quickly zeroed in on the dashboard area.
