Stacey White, Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute and to Distribute Methamphetamine, Georgia 2016

SAVANNAH, GA – A Liberty County man is facing more than two decades behind bars after being sentenced for flooding the Southern District of Georgia with methamphetamine. Stacey White, 33, of Hinesville, was handed a 246-month federal prison sentence by U.S. District Court Judge Lisa Godbey Wood after pleading guilty to Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute and to Distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

The case, spearheaded by U.S. Attorney Bobby L. Christine, reveals White operated a significant narcotics network between July 2016 and December 2018. He routinely traveled to the Atlanta area, acquiring up to two kilograms of methamphetamine per trip, then returning to the Southern District to distribute the drugs with the help of recruited accomplices. White will also serve five years of supervised release upon completion of his prison term – a stark reminder that there’s no parole in the federal system.

“Methamphetamine is a dangerous, highly addictive drug that destroys lives and damages communities, and Stacey White is responsible for distributing it throughout the Southern District,” Christine stated bluntly. “Thanks to the dedicated work of our law enforcement partners, his days of spreading poison are over.” The investigation uncovered that White wasn’t just a dealer; he was a certified member of the violent Bloods criminal street gang, adding another layer of danger to his operation.

White’s downfall came in December 2018 when he and another conspirator were arrested in Florida while attempting to recover stolen methamphetamine. The bust was the culmination of a broader investigation that initially indicted six individuals in February 2019. To date, three others have pleaded guilty and are already serving time, while two remain in custody awaiting trial. White’s history is checkered with prior arrests and three felony convictions in state court; he was on probation at the time of his capture.

Federal agents emphasize the collaborative effort that brought White to justice. Robert J. Murphy, Special Agent in Charge of the DEA Atlanta Division, declared, “The successful results of this investigation should let criminals who flood our communities with methamphetamine know that DEA and its law enforcement partners will not hesitate to use all its resources to destroy their drug distribution networks.” GBI Director Vic Reynolds echoed this sentiment, stating, “Illegal drugs and gangs have no place in Georgia. We will continue to work diligently along with our local and federal partners to investigate and dismantle drug trafficking organizations that threaten the safety of our communities.”

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jenna Solari prosecuted the case for the United States. This conviction serves as a warning: the Southern District is cracking down on those who profit from the misery of addiction, and the consequences will be severe.
