Heroin Trafficker Sentenced to 5 Years in Prison
A 20-year-old Pittsburgh man has been sentenced to 60 months in prison for heroin trafficking. Dorianne Harris, 20, pleaded guilty to violating federal drug laws and will serve three years of federal supervised release after completing his sentence.
According to court documents, Harris conspired with others to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin, a Schedule I controlled substance. Harris received multi-brick quantities of heroin from co-defendant Troy Anderson on a regular and continual basis, and then sold the heroin to others.
Each brick of heroin contains 50 stamp bags of heroin, which retail for between $6 and $10 each. Harris’s co-defendant, Troy Anderson, has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
Assistant United States Attorney Eric S. Rosen prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General, City of Pittsburgh Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police, Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office, McKeesport Police Department, Munhall Police Department, and the West Homestead Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution and sentencing of Dorianne Harris.
The investigation into Harris’s heroin trafficking operation revealed a complex web of drug distribution and sales. Harris’s sentence is a significant blow to the heroin trade in Pittsburgh and serves as a warning to others who would engage in similar activities.
