A 35-year sentence has been handed down to Joseph Herbert Hobbs, a 42-year-old man from Reynoldsville, West Virginia, for his role in a massive methamphetamine operation.
According to court documents and statements in court, an investigation in Harrison County found Hobbs was a major source of methamphetamine in North Central West Virginia.
Hobbs worked with a network of distributors to sell methamphetamine, making him a key figure in the region’s illicit drug trade.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Brandon S. Flower prosecuted the case on behalf of the government, working closely with the Greater Harrison Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative that investigated the case.
Chief U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh presided over the case, handing down the 35-year sentence for possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine.
Hobbs’ sentence is a significant blow to the methamphetamine trade in North Central West Virginia, and a testament to the hard work of law enforcement agencies in the region.
