Nolber Rolando Rosales-Rosales, Child Porn Smuggling, Texas 2024

DEL RIO, Texas – In a brutal twist of justice, Nolber Rolando Rosales-Rosales, a Honduran national, was handed a 10-year federal prison sentence Thursday for brazenly attempting to smuggle child pornography across the border at Eagle Pass. The 32-year-old’s crime came to light when he arrived at the Camino Real International Bridge in Eagle Pass on Oct. 7, 2024, where U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers referred him for a secondary inspection.

A thorough search of his cell phone uncovered an arsenal of sinister images of young girls. Rosales-Rosales readily confessed to maintaining a Telegram account filled with child pornography, leading to the uncovering of six videos depicting heinous acts of child sexual abuse.

Rosales-Rosales was formally indicted on Nov. 6, 2024, facing charges including the importation of sexually explicit depictions of minors, transportation of such materials, and possession with intent to view child prepubescent pornography. He pleaded guilty to importing the material on April 2, under the stern gaze of U.S. District Judge Ernest Gonzalez.

U.S. Attorney Justin R. Simmons for the Western District of Texas announced the sentence, noting that Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and CBP were instrumental in the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Tyler Fleming, Nallely Duarte, and Daisy Gonzales spearheaded the prosecution of the case.

This grim episode is part of Operation Take Back America, a comprehensive initiative aimed at safeguarding American communities from criminals like Rosales-Rosales. The operation leverages resources from the Department of Justice’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN), aiming to stamp out illegal immigration, cartels, transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and violent crime.

As Rosales-Rosales is ushered into a decade of solitude, the grim tale serves as a stark reminder of the relentless efforts of federal agencies in combating child exploitation across international borders.
