TALLAHASSEE & PENSACOLA, FLORIDA – United States Attorney John P. Heekin announced the ominous news today: Freddy Bravo Galvez, Marco Tulio Gonzalez-Oliva, and Jose Alfredo Morales-Huerta have been hit with federal indictments for illegal reentry into the United States. Each defendant, a foreign national, had faced deportation previously before brazenly crossing back over the border.
Galvez, 32, of Mexico, is accused of slipping into Tallahassee in June 2025. He’s no stranger to U.S. immigration authorities; Galvez was deported once in 2013 and again in 2020. Now he faces the prospect of up to two years behind bars and a $250,000 fine for his latest transgression.
Younger by three years, Gonzalez-Oliva, 25, from Honduras, is also staring down serious federal charges. The Honduran was caught in Fort Walton Beach last March, mere months after being deported in 2023. His illegal reentry charge carries the same heavy penalties as his fellow defendants.
Morales-Huerta, at 48, is the oldest of the trio. He too hails from Mexico and was apprehended in Pensacola this June, just over four years since he last faced deportation in 2019. His return to the United States now places him in legal jeopardy for a second time.
Assistant United States Attorneys Eric Mountin, Jessica Etherton, and Brooke DiSalvo are the ones leading the charge against these repeat offenders. They are part of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations, and Homeland Security Investigations team that is investigating and prosecuting these cases with unyielding determination.
The Department of Justice’s Operation Take Back America initiative is the backdrop for this story. This nationwide effort is a declaration of war against illegal immigration, cartels, transnational criminal organizations, and the violent crime they perpetuate. It represents the full force of the DOJ in an attempt to protect American communities from such threats.
