SCRANTON- Isaiah Postell-Jones, age 25, of Swoyersville, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 120 months’ imprisonment for distributing methamphetamine in the area.
According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, Postell-Jones was sentenced by United States District Judge Robert D. Mariani for one count of distribution and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
On March 13, 2024, Postell-Jones knowingly sold over 100 grams of methamphetamine in a parking lot in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, for $900. He also admitted to selling ‘sham’ methamphetamine on two other occasions.
The Drug Enforcement Administration, the Wilkes-Barre Police Department, and the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office investigated the case. Assistant United States Attorney James M. Buchanan prosecuted the case.
The investigation revealed that Postell-Jones knowingly sold large quantities of methamphetamine, putting the lives of many at risk. His actions have resulted in severe consequences, including the loss of his freedom for the next decade.
Postell-Jones will also serve five years of supervised release after serving his prison sentence. This case serves as a reminder of the severity of the consequences for those involved in the distribution and possession of controlled substances.
