A Pittsburgh man is facing serious consequences after a federal grand jury indicted him on a charge of possessing fentanyl and cocaine with intent to distribute.
Edwin Williams, 31, of Laketon Road in Pittsburgh, was named as the sole defendant in the one-count indictment, which accuses him of possessing quantities of fentanyl and cocaine on or about March 25, 2021.
Williams, if convicted, faces a maximum total sentence of 20 years in prison, a fine of $1,000,000 or both. The actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offense and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
The law enforcement agencies involved in the investigation include the Penn Hills Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Assistant United States Attorney Yvonne M. Saadi is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government. Williams is considered innocent until proven guilty.
