A former resident of Charleroi, Pennsylvania, is facing serious federal charges following a recent indictment.
Tecko Tartt, age 35, has been accused of violating federal drug and gun laws, according to Acting United States Attorney Stephen R. Kaufman.
The three-count indictment, returned on August 25 and unsealed today, alleges that Tartt possessed with the intent to distribute 10 grams or more of fluorofentanyl, a Schedule I controlled substance and an analogue of fentanyl, as well as quantities of cocaine, on or about March 31, 2021.
In addition to the fentanyl and cocaine charges, Tartt is also accused of possessing a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon and in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
The law provides for a minimum of five and up to 40 years in prison, a fine of $5,000,000 or both for the fentanyl trafficking charge.
The maximum sentence for the firearms charge is up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
Assistant United States Attorneys Yvonne M. Saadi and Jonathan D. Lusty are prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Pennsylvania State Police conducted the investigation leading to the indictment.
Tecko Tartt, a former resident of Charleroi, Pennsylvania, is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
