Jade Larae Duncan, Involuntary Manslaughter, Oklahoma 2022

Muskogee, Oklahoma – In a shocking turn of events, Jade Larae Duncan, a 27-year-old resident of Stilwell, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to Involuntary Manslaughter in Indian Country.

The crime occurred on December 2, 2022, in Adair County, within the boundaries of the Cherokee Nation Reservation, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Duncan was driving under the influence of alcohol and departed the roadway into a creek bed, resulting in the death of an individual.

The charge arose from an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and the Adair County Sheriff’s Department.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Patrick M. Flanigan, Lewis M. Reagan, and T. Cameron McEwen represented the United States in this case.

The Honorable Gerald L. Jackson, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.

The indictment alleged that Duncan unlawfully killed an individual in the commission of an unlawful act not amounting to a felony and in the commission in an unlawful manner, without due caution and circumspection.

Jade Larae Duncan will await sentencing for her crime. The specifics of her sentence have not been released at this time.
