ROANOKE, VIRGINIA – Meth Conspiracy Lands Man 200 Months in Prison
James Daniel Miller, 32, is headed to federal prison for his role in a massive methamphetamine conspiracy that spanned years. Miller, a resident of Virginia, was sentenced to 200 months in federal prison for his crimes.
Miller’s downfall came after he pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine. The charges date back to 2013 and continued until December 2015.
Assistant United States Attorney Andrew Bassford presented evidence in court that revealed Miller’s involvement in the conspiracy. The investigation was a collaborative effort involving the Drug Enforcement Administration, Virginia State Police, Claytor Lake Task Force, and the Smyth County Sheriff’s Office.
Bassford’s prosecution of the case brought Miller to justice for his crimes. The 200-month sentence handed down by the court is a harsh reminder of the consequences of participating in such illicit activity.
The investigation and subsequent prosecution of Miller mark a significant victory in the fight against methamphetamine trafficking in the Western District of Virginia. Law enforcement agencies are working tirelessly to disrupt and dismantle these operations, and cases like Miller’s demonstrate their dedication to public safety.
Miller’s case serves as a warning to those involved in similar activities: the consequences of getting caught are severe and long-lasting. As this case shows, even years after the fact, individuals can still face justice for their crimes.
