Jarratt A. Turner, Production of Child Pornography, Tennessee 2017

A Nashville man has been brought to justice for his heinous crimes against two young children. Jarratt A. Turner, 35, pleaded guilty to 16 counts of Production of Child Pornography and one count of Transportation of Child Pornography, announced Jack Smith, Acting U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee.

According to testimony during the plea hearing, Turner took sexually explicit images and videos of an infant boy and toddler girl, whom he was babysitting, on 16 different occasions between October 2014 and May of 2015. The sexually explicit material included depictions of himself sexually molesting the two very young children, who were between the ages of 12 and 31 months during this period.

The victims in this case were just babies, and it’s horrific to think that someone would take advantage of them like that. Turner’s crimes are a stark reminder of the dangers of child exploitation and the importance of holding perpetrators accountable.

Turner faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and up to 500 years in prison for these crimes. Sentencing is scheduled for October 11, 2017, before U.S. District Court Judge Marvin E. Aspen.

The investigation into Turner’s crimes was led by Homeland Security Investigations, and the United States is represented by Assistant U.S. Attorney S. Carran Daughtrey.

This case is a testament to the tireless efforts of law enforcement and prosecutors to protect children from predators like Turner. We will continue to work tirelessly to bring perpetrators of child exploitation to justice.

The community can rest assured that law enforcement is taking these crimes seriously and will do everything in their power to prevent them.
