Jason Michael Dekaye, Sexual Exploitation of Minor, Pennsylvania 2026

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – A Meadville resident has been charged with violating federal child sexual exploitation laws. Jason Michael Dekaye, 50, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on four counts.

According to the indictment, Dekaye received and attempted to receive material depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor on January 19 and 20, 2026. He also allegedly possessed and accessed with intent to view material depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor in January 2026, and possessed obscene visual representations of the sexual abuse of children.

The indictment includes charges of receiving and attempting to receive material depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor, possession of material depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor, and possession of obscene visual representations of the sexual abuse of children.

The charges carry significant penalties. The law provides for a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, or both for the receipt and attempted receipt charge. For the possession charges, the law provides for a sentence of up to 10 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, or both.

Assistant United States Attorney Christian A. Trabold is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government. Homeland Security Investigations and the Stuart, Florida, Police Department conducted the investigation leading to the indictment.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by the United States Attorneys Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children, and to identify and rescue victims.

An indictment is an accusation. Dekaye is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. The case is currently pending and no trial date has been set.
