Javier Bachiller, a 32-year-old Syracuse man, has been handed a 10-year prison sentence for his role in a methamphetamine distribution scheme.
On October 19, 2023, Bachiller was arrested and found to be in possession of 500 grams or more of methamphetamine in a garage he was renting in Syracuse. Authorities discovered quantities of cocaine, crack cocaine, and heroin that he intended to distribute to others.
Bachiller pleaded guilty to the charges and admitted to his involvement in the distribution of the illicit substances. United States District Judge David N. Hurd sentenced Bachiller to 10 years in federal prison.
In addition to the prison sentence, Bachiller was also ordered to serve a 5-year term of post-release supervision and pay a $100 special assessment. This case was investigated by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), with assistance from the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office, the Syracuse Police Department, the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, and the New York State Police.
