Jeffrey Adam Stone Sentenced to 10 Years for Child Exploitation

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – In a disturbing case of online child exploitation, 31-year-old Jeffrey Adam Stone of Brandenburg, Kentucky, has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison followed by 20 years of Supervised Release.

The sentencing took place on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at the United States District Court in Louisville, Kentucky.

Stone was found guilty of two child exploitation offenses, including attempting to meet a 15-year-old girl for the purpose of engaging in sexual conduct and distributing obscene material to a minor.

According to the plea agreement, Stone engaged in online communications with a person he believed to be a 15-year-old girl, whom he met on Craigslist. He sent her obscene material and requested to meet her for sex acts.

Assistant United States Attorney Jo E. Lawless prosecuted the case, with the Kentucky Office of Attorney General’s Department of Criminal Investigations conducting the investigation, assisted by the United States Secret Service.

Stone will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison.

United States Attorney Russell M. Coleman stated, ‘We will continue to deploy every lawful investigative tool, and every law enforcement partnership, to protect our kids.’

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
