Methamphetamine Dealer Sentenced to 5 Years in Prison

In a significant blow to the illicit drug trade, Jeffrey R. Lambert, 63, of Ranger, West Virginia, has been sentenced to five years in prison for his role in distributing methamphetamine and fentanyl in Lincoln County.

According to court documents, on August 2, 2022, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Lambert’s residence and uncovered a substantial stash of illicit substances, including approximately 186 grams of methamphetamine, around 57 grams of fentanyl and fentanyl analogues, several firearms, and $4,402 in cash.

Lambert’s illicit activities did not go unnoticed, as authorities had been monitoring his transactions with a confidential informant. Over the course of four occasions between July 25, 2022, and August 1, 2022, Lambert sold approximately 70 grams of methamphetamine to the informant at his Ranger residence.

United States Attorney Will Thompson commended the investigative work of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the U.S. Route 119 Drug Task Force, which consists of members from the Mingo County Sheriff’s Office, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, and the West Virginia State Police.

United States District Judge Joseph R. Goodwin imposed the sentence, bringing a sense of closure to the case. Assistant United States Attorney Jeremy B. Wolfe prosecuted the case.

Lambert’s sentence serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of engaging in illicit activities. As the authorities continue to crack down on drug trafficking, it is essential that those involved in such endeavors are brought to justice.
