Jeramie D. Watts, Methamphetamine Distribution, Nebraska 2018

An undercover sting operation led to the downfall of a 35-year-old Omaha man, Jeramie D. Watts, who was recently sentenced for distributing methamphetamine in the city.

According to court documents, on April 20, 2018, an undercover agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) purchased 11 grams of methamphetamine from Watts for $500 in the parking lot of a West Omaha business.

Watts, who is 35 and a resident of Omaha, entered the passenger side of the agent’s vehicle and produced the methamphetamine before leaving the area.

A forensic lab confirmed the methamphetamine as weighing 11.7 grams with a purity of 95%, according to court records.

Watts’ sentencing took place on July 6, 2023, in federal court in Omaha. United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher handed down a 12-month prison sentence, with no parole in the federal system.

After his release from prison, Watts will begin a 3-year term of supervised release. This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Acting United States Attorney Susan T. Lehr announced the sentencing, stating that Watts’ actions had serious consequences for the community. ‘The distribution of methamphetamine poses a significant threat to public health and safety,’ Lehr said.

The sentencing of Watts serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the Omaha area.
