Topeka Man Sentenced to 105 Months for Distributing Child Porn
A Topeka man was sentenced to 105 months in federal prison for distributing child pornography, U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister said. Jeremy M. Schwerdt, 41, Topeka, Kan., pleaded guilty to one count of distributing child pornography.
According to court documents, Schwerdt admitted using the internet to send child pornography to another user. Investigators found 350 images and eight videos containing sexually explicit images of children on his electronic devices.
This case was prosecuted under the Justice Department’s Project Safe Childhood initiative. McAllister commended the FBI and Assistant U.S. Attorney Christine Kenney for their work on the case.
Schwerdt’s sentence was handed down on an unspecified date. The total number of images and videos found on his devices was 358.
