SCRANTON – A Philipsburg man has been charged with drug trafficking and firearms offenses in Centre County, Pennsylvania.
Jeremy Stephen Heeman, age 46, was indicted on May 16, 2023, for possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, possession of an unregistered firearm, and felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The indictment alleges that Heeman committed these crimes on January 9, 2023 in Centre County.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Luisa Honora Berti.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence in communities across the country.
Heeman is currently facing up to life imprisonment, a term of life supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine if found guilty in court.
Indictments are only allegations, and Heeman is presumed to be innocent unless and until found guilty in court.
