Jerome Tallington, Drug Trafficking, New York 2023

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Jerome Tallington, a 28-year-old man from Buffalo, was sentenced to 21 months in prison for selling heroin and marijuana to a correctional officer’s spouse, who then smuggled the drugs into the Attica Correctional Facility.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Tallington sold gram quantities of heroin and ounces of marijuana to Elizabeth Camue Martinez between September 2013 and December 2013. Martinez, who was married to a inmate at the facility, smuggled the drugs into the prison and provided them to her husband, Andres Martinez.

Andres Martinez, who was also convicted of conspiracy to commit offenses, was sentenced to 45 months in prison. Elizabeth Camue Martinez was sentenced to 34 months in prison.

The investigation, led by the Drug Enforcement Administration, uncovered a significant narcotics trafficking operation within the correctional facility.

Jerome Tallington was convicted of possession with intent to distribute and distribution of heroin and conspiracy to commit such offenses. He was sentenced to 21 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo on [date].

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge James J. Hunt, the New York State Police, under the direction of Major Steven Nigrelli, the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, under the direction of Major Wayne C. Olson, the Erie County Sheriff’s Department, under the direction of Sheriff Timothy Howard, the Wyoming Country District Attorney’s Office, under the direction of Donald O’Geen, and the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, under the direction of Commissioner Anthony Annucci.
