Wise Couple Sentenced for Fake Real Estate Deals
A husband and wife realtor team from Wise, Virginia, were sentenced for wire fraud related to their scheme to create fake residential sales contracts.
Jessee Allen DeLoach, 40, and his wife Natasha Ashley Miller DeLoach, 38, both pled guilty in February 2022 to one count of wire fraud.
The DeLoaches were sentenced to 15 months in federal prison and must pay $146,273 in restitution. They also obtained over $300,000 in advance sales commissions through their scheme.
The scheme involved creating at least 19 phony residential sales contracts and submitting them to multiple advance commission companies throughout the country.
The DeLoaches also created fake title companies, including one named Excel Title Company, to validate the fraudulent contracts to the advance commission companies.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Virginia State Police investigated the case, with assistance from the Wise County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Lena L. Busscher is prosecuting the case.
