A Frightening Altercation in Zuni Pueblo

ALBUQUERQUE – In a disturbing incident, 23-year-old Joey Luarkie is facing federal charges for allegedly stabbing his acquaintance, John Doe, in the throat at a residence in Zuni Pueblo, New Mexico. The harrowing event unfolded on February 4, 2024.

According to the criminal complaint, the altercation began when John Doe’s girlfriend, Jane Doe, and he got into an argument outside the residence. Luarkie, who was also present, allegedly followed John Doe and Jane Doe into the bedroom, where a physical altercation ensued. The confrontation ended with John Doe collapsing in the front yard after being stabbed in the throat.

Responding officers from the Zuni Police Department found Jane Doe performing CPR on John Doe, who was later transported to Zuni Health Center before being life-flighted to the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque for emergency surgeries.
