A McLaughlin, South Dakota, man was acquitted of a serious crime in federal court.
John Eagle, age 30, was indicted by a federal grand jury on April 14, 2015 for one count of Aggravated Sexual Abuse, a serious crime that carries severe penalties.
The alleged incident occurred in March 2015, when Eagle allegedly sexually abused a female acquaintance.
The investigation was a joint effort between the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Standing Rock Agency.
